Looking for the ultimate homemade Onion Hair Oil recipe?

We've got the perfect one for you that stays fresh for up to a month!

Onion oil has long been hailed as a top choice for hair growth, thanks to it's rich sulfur content.

Sulfur is essential for keratin production, a protein that forms the backbone of your hair. When massaged into the scalp, onion oil is believed to boost blood circulation, nourishing hair follicles and supporting healthy hair growth. What’s more, we’ve customized this recipe to align with your unique Dosha type, ensuring it’s tailored specifically to your needs!

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients

For this nourishing Onion Hair Oil recipe, you'll need:

- 2-3 medium-sized onions

- A carrier oil (choose from sesame, almond, coconut, ghee, olive, or sunflower oil)

- An airtight glass container

- A blender or grater

Step 2: Prepare the Onions & Extract the Juice

Peel and chop the onions into small pieces. If you're using a blender, blend the chopped onions into a paste and strain the juice using a fine cloth or strainer. Alternatively, grate the onions to directly extract the juice.

Step 3: Mix with Your Carrier Oil

Combine the fresh onion juice with your chosen carrier oil in a glass container. The ideal ratio is 1 part onion juice to 3 parts carrier oil.

For Vata types: Use Sesame Oil or Almond Oil.

For Pitta types: Go for Coconut Oil or Ghee.

For Kapha types: Olive Oil or Sunflower Oil works best.

Step 4: Customize Your Onion Hair Oil with Secret Ingredients

We’re revealing our secret ingredients to give your onion oil that extra edge! For dry, flaky scalp and frizz (Vata imbalance):

- A few chunks of dried Amla

- A spoonful of Fenugreek seeds

- A pinch or two of Triphala powder

For premature greying and irritated scalp (Pitta imbalance):

- A dash of Brahmi powder

- Hibiscus petals and leaves

- A few dried Curry leaves

For oily scalp and sluggish hair growth (Kapha imbalance), try adding:

- A pinch of Neem powder

- A splash of lemon juice

- A handful of dried orange peel bits

Step 5: Store and Infuse

Seal the glass container tightly and place it in a cool, dark spot. Allow the mixture to infuse for about a week, shaking the container daily to help the ingredients blend together.

Step 6: Strain and Apply

After a week, strain the oil to remove any leftover onion bits. Your homemade, nourishing onion hair oil is now ready to work its magic on your hair! Enjoy the revitalizing benefits of this natural remedy.
